In Mexico City, on the anniversary day of two previous terrible quakes, a magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck Mexico's central Pacific coast on Monday, killed one person and setting off a seismic alarm in the trembling capital.

  Claudia Sheinbaum,  the mayor of Mexico City,  also tweeted that there had  been no reports of damage in the city  on September 19, 

Mexico has experienced an earthquake three times. Today's earthquake occurs on the anniversary of Mexico's deadliest recorded earthquake, 

which occurred on September 19, 1985, when the capital was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 8.1 and more than 5,000 people died as a result

On September 19, 2017, an earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 7.1 also hit Puebla.
